Look at these wheels!!! Jillian is SO excited, even though we didn’t start off so hot with the trials. She was adamant she didn’t want a new chair. I’m so proud of her! I heard the biggest giggle EVER from her today when she was too tired to wheel herself, and was holding my hand. I twirled her in the lobby at Bloorview today and she thought it was the best thing ever! Now if only the little anti-tip wheels wouldn’t stop leaving bruises on my shins. Guess we need a lesson on forward.

My little sister always loves when she gets her new chairs every few years (she keeps outgrowing them!) and her favorite part is that she gets to personalize the back of the headrest with her name. Jillian looks so proud and grown up!

I don’t know if you’ll remember me, but I’m just posting to say, “Take off the anti-tip bars and save your shins –yes, I know, they’re a pain to put on and take off!”
Jillian should flip, as her positiioning and balance is good. However, if her wheelchair is tipsy, when she is wheeling herself, tell seating to move her seat “forword or higher up on the frame. Although they will be annoyed, Jillian will be able to push herself with greater ease. Sometimes, therapists forget that your dautgher’s range of motion differs from a paraplegic, as she has CP.
