Seems like Lauren isn’t featured in many pictures lately. Mostly because she’s at school all day. I took this picture on Monday, she was asking me to play Twinkle Twinkle over and over. Since she was so eager, I placed some shaped stickers on her keyboard keys and wrote out a “legend” if you will for a few songs. I guess now is the time to start teaching her if she has an interest. Gotta tell you though that it makes me pretty proud that she wants to learn. Anyone know of a good music teacher!?
Happy Wednesday!

SO cool! My daughter is wanting me to find her a book so she can learn to play the Casio Keyboard I found at the thrift store. I love it when kids get into music!

I have to be honest with you, I’m marvelling in the fact that she’s showing an interest, perhaps some of my genes got in there afterall!

I play 10 musical insturments, so I’m glad a little bit of talent rubbed off on her.

That is really exciting. Only one of my kids is musically inclined and thankfully she likes it too. Hope you find a teacher and that she keeps it up.
technically, *I* could teach her, but I always vowed that if the girls showed interest in music, I’d find them a teacher. I went to university to actually teach music.

I had no idea. That is really neat. My husband went to music school here in Atlanta and has tried to teach our daughter but she says, “Isn’t there a video I can watch or a book I can read instead?” Apparently dad teaching her is not that easy!
I always thought it was a conflict of interest… I’m more than happy to try to find her a teacher. I never want to be one of those parents that has to force my children to practice, my own parents never told me to practice until I was actually in university. lol We’ll see though, if she wants to try with me, I’d be willing!

You know, it wouldn’t really bother me! I play 10 musical instruments, so I know I could handle it, plus everyone has to start somewhere, right?

Oh my gosh! I was about her age when I started piano lessons – can you send her? It’s fantastic that she has such an interest

That is how I learned except with numbers, before I learned to read music. I can’t remember how to read it anymore but I love that Lauren is learning and like it that is awesome!

It is great that she loves music!
There you go. Talents are just popping out and developing by their own. Good thing they appreciate music.

Great idea to use the stickers! It will be interesting to see if she takes after her mama and wants to learn. I don’t think it hurts to teach her at the beginning and nurture her love. You’re already doing a great job. Even teaching her music theory will be a nice bonding for you two. If she gets more serious, then a teacher would be best to lessen stress for both of you.

My mom used to do this too when I was same age with this little lady here.. Mom put stickers on the keys of our piano so that I can follow the notes easily.
Unfortunately I really have a hard time playing it..
