As I was clicking my way happily through the interwebs tonight, I came across a post from Tales from the nursery. (I don’t even know how I got there!) Darcy posted 10 things you probably shouldn’t know about me and I thought it sounded fun, so, I’m joining in! (Darcy found the original idea on My Silly Monkeys blog! (I decided to change my response up a bit since “shouldn’t know about me” sounds like confession time….)
- Most of my friends think I’m outgoing. This IS true, but I’m only outgoing and not shy(ish) AFTER I’ve gotten used to you. New social situations make me nervous sometimes.
- I have visited every province in Canada. (I need to visit the territories before they add anymore)
- I can play 10 different musical instruments (I know… I’ve mentioned that a lot here….) *The instruments are, clarinet, flute, saxophone (all 3- alto, tenor, bass), oboe, french horn, trumpet, euphonium, tuba, trombone, percussion instruments (NOT including the kit, I don’t have enough coordination for that.), piano and I sing.
- I lived on American soil from 1986-1994, but I didn’t actually set foot in the states until 2004. How did I manage this? Growing up, my dad was in the military and we were stationed to Argentia Naval Base in Newfoundland. The US owned this little piece of land from 1940-1994. We used American currency, had American products available, yet I went off base to go to school since I was Canadian. In fact? Argentia, Newfoundland is now on a trivial pursuit question!
- I have recently lost 63 lbs. I often say this is one of my greatest accomplishments, besides procreating.
- I’m highly insecure. I have always had pretty crappy self esteem, but now, I get paranoid if someone looks at me too long (like I start thinking: “Do I have a booger or something? Did my boob pop out? Why are they staring at me?!”) I’m trying to rectify that NOW before I pass any of that on to my children.
- I’m also VERY emotional. I cry at the drop of a hat. I cry when I’m sad, mad or happy. It makes me SO mad when I cry when I’m mad because I think people aren’t going to take me seriously while I am crying. Which in fact, makes me even MORE angry.
- I. HATE. VOMIT. I describe it like this… Some people are afraid of spiders or needles. I’m afraid of vomit. I get all panicky inside and I experience the “flight or fight” feelings. And if I feel like throwing up, I don’t let it happen. Or at least I try everything in my power NOT to make it happen.
- I read as an escape. I love getting lost in story lines that are usually worse than my own experiences.
- I’ve had 2 prior weight loss “successes” before the Zone. Being pregnant with Lauren was 1 (I lost 19 lbs) and getting my jaw surgically broken was #2, I only lost 50 lbs then.
Aren’t you SO glad you joined me to hear these things?! I’m full of useless information. I’d LOVE to hear from you about your own things people don’t need to know about you!

Does anyone really like vomit? Just saying lol. I love how worldly you are. After taking this trip to MD. I have become aware of just how unworldly I am. You are awesome for being able to lose 63 lbs. too! In general, you just rock lady. Oh yeah, and I have that overly emotional problem too.
