A NEW Review and Giveaway!

I know, it’s been a few weeks since my last one! I was so excited to tell you about this giveaway, but my husband seems to be a bit slow on meeting deadlines. You’re probably wondering what my husband has to do with this story.

When we were placed on 5 week vacation in April/May, I had bought Adam a Leatherman multi tool for Christmas. Or our anniversary. Look. I’ve been with this guy for 10 years, married to him for 5 on Friday (Hear that Adam? FIVE YEARS ON FRIDAY. And no, I won’t count the grey hair in your head that I had no part of putting there!) and he (being the very smart and loving husband he is) left his multi-tool clipped to the lamp in our room. Yep. smart move! So, since he has been SO sad about the loss of his multi-tool, and since I am the loving wife I am, I found an opportunity to work with Executive Gift Shoppe I was GOING to keep this item aside since our anniversary is coming up, I wasn’t quite sure what Adam would want in the way of a multi tool. (Can I still use this as his anniversary present?!) Since I have no idea how a multi tool worked, I told him HE’S responsible for writing up the review!!!

Apparently, the gung ho guy he is, he wants to write 2 reviews. My eyes kind of glossed over and I nodded a lot and said “uh huh” a lot. I told him write that part that he wants first, so I could get this up! Here’s Adam’s review. Thankfully, he refrained from using the words “Doo-hickey or thingamabob”

**ADAM’S REVIEW**
“Hercules” Part 1 – The Subjective Review

Let me start by saying that this is not a pocketknife. In my opinion, it’s to big and heavy to carry around in your pocket, it might pull your pants down! It is a multi-tool and tools SHOULD be solid and feel like they can take on any job. Most of the attachments are easy to pull out, I have a little trouble getting the corkscrew and the long phillips screwdriver though. I’m not sure what to make of the keyring, I’ll probably use that to hang it up in the workshop, like I said – it’s a little heavy to carry around in your pocket. There was one tool I didn’t even notice until the 3rd or 4th time I used the Hercules, the punch – it’s on the back side with the corkscrew.

Tools I’ve used to date
Pliers: I used the pliers to tighten the bolts that hold the legs on our new bed. The bolts were almost too big but it worked out great. I also used them to pull out some staples from a couch I was moving.

Scissors: I used the scrissors to open some packaging. They’re not great on heavier plactics, but plastic bags that need to be cut open are no problem. I haven’t tried them on paper yet.

Knife: This thing is wicked sharp. I was cutting a plastic tie off a bundle of TV cable and the slightest touch of the blade sliced into the cable’s covering (the tie didn’t stand a chance either). I like the fact that it locks open, I wouldn’t want it folding up on my fingers. That being said, unlocking and closing the blade can be a little nerve wracking. The easiest way to do it is also kinda dangerous. It will take time to figure out the best way to do it without any possibility of injury.

Screwdriver (long): This has been very useful for replacing batteries in the kids’ toys. It seems like the makers of children’s toys feel that if anyone can actually touch one of the screws with a finger, it will immediately fall out. This is why they hide them in long skinny holes. I’m sure of it.

I haven’t had the opportunity to use every tool yet, but we’re moving at the moment so I’m sure it won’t be long before I do. Stay tuned for “Hercules” Part 2 – The Objective Review!

1st off, great job Adam! I like that you mentioned that it may be a bit heavy to carry all the time in your pocket. My hubby is always carrying a pocket knife and recently lost 3 in a period of 2 weeks w/o leaving the house! So he bought himself the Leatherman Micra, small & light weight, but no pliers. He could use a new wallet so ‘maybe’ if I win I will let him get the Prima Bi-Fold Wallet with I.D. Window by Tony Perotti. It looks soft too. I also like one of those indoor -outdoor weather stations…
Good information. Looking forward to your ‘working’ review, give it a good work out with moving ;)
